This webinar will discuss how the ICJ is relying on false UN information that denies the Jewish people the right to self-determination and frames Israel as a pariah state.
Prof. Leslie Johns is a professor of political science and law at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). Her research and teaching lie at the intersection of international law and international relations. She is author of many books and articles about the international courts including Politics and International Law: Making and Breaking and Upholding Global Rules (2022, Cambridge University Press) and Strengthening International Courts: The Hidden Costs of Legalisation (2015, University of Michigan Press). She is the recipient of the Michael Wallerstein Award for political economy and multiple fellowships from the Niehaus Center for Globalization and Governance at Princeton University.
Prof. Gregory Rose is Professor Emeritus at the University of Wollongong (Australia). He teaches international law of the sea and maritime regulation and enforcement. He publishes on transnational environmental crime and mechanisms for the effective implementation of international environmental standards, the regulation of counter-terrorism and political violence, particularly the handling and transfer in international military operations of detainees and international legal cooperation for law enforcement in the area of national security. He is co-author of Two States for Two Peoples? The Palestinian-Israeli Conflict, International Law and EU Policy (2023, Sallux).
